This is a luxurious pre-owned 100% pure cashmere black overcoat.  The fabric is very soft, in a medium thickness and of very nice quality.  The coat has a Montreal retailer label on the interior lining, Harry Rosen, and was most likely made in Montreal, Canada by Cardinal, a manufacturer with a history dating to 1938 that from the beginning focused on manufacturing quality cashmere topcoats.  I’m fairly sure of this as I’ve seen the same DB model Tyvek label on other coats that I’ve had that were made by them, always beautiful quality.  The coat is made in a classic style with medium wide peaked lapels, two button closure within a six button double breasted configuration, padded shoulders, flapped side pockets, chest pocket at the left, four button cuffs and an 18” kick vent.  The coat is fully lined in black satin acetate. It was made by ACTWU (Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union) formed in 1976 and which changed its name to UNITE in 1995, so the coat definitely dates to that time range, most likely to the 1980s.

Sizing: The size label states size 44 regular, but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the thickness of the fabric and the cut of the garment into consideration):

Shoulders: 21” across shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 25” from shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve Inseam: 16” long

Chest: 50” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 44”

Hips:  47”

Overall length: 48“, measured flat

Condition:  Although pre-owned, this coat is in great condition - it’s obvious that it saw very little use.  It is very clean and has been well stored. 

This is a very nice coat - pure cashmere coats of this quality are very expensive to buy today, so this is a good opportunity to own a high quality overcoat!
